Brain Enhancement (BE) Mindful Therapy®: Workbook 1
Brain Enhancement (BE) Mindful Therapy®: Workbook 1
At the center of BE-MT is the concept of stress-load deficiency. Stress-load deficiency occurs when the stressors in a person’s life consistently outweigh the activities, relationships, habits, and experiences that help that person de-stress. When this imbalance continues, chronic stress can affect thoughts, emotions, behavior, physical health, relationships, cognitive functioning, and overall quality of life.
Brain Enhancement (BE) Mindful Therapy®: Workbook 1 is the foundational, hands-on guide to understanding and applying the Brain Enhancement (BE) Mindful Therapy model. It helps readers recognize the effects of chronic stress, strengthen mental fitness, and develop practical habits that support a healthier brain, a more balanced mind, and a more resilient life.
This workbook is the first volume in a three-volume set accompanying my 2025 book, Brain Enhancement (BE) Mindful Therapy®. The original book presents the complete scope of the BE-MT model, including its theoretical and clinical foundations, applications to mental health concerns, and discussions of psychotropic medications and supplements used in the treatment of mental disorders. The workbook series takes a more focused and action-oriented approach. Each volume translates the principles of BE-MT into practical learning experiences through structured exercises, worksheets, clinical protocols, self-assessments, and visual learning tools.
Volume I establishes the essential foundation for every application of the model. Volume II addresses specialized applications in athletics, education, workplace functioning, and aging. Volume III presents mindful procedures for individuals working in high-intensity professions, including first responders and military personnel. Dividing the material into three volumes enables deeper, more precise, and clinically meaningful guidance without overwhelming the foundational concepts.
Workbook 1 helps readers identify their personal stressors and de-stressors, examine patterns that may be contributing to chronic stress, and begin restoring a healthier balance. Through guided reflection, mindfulness practices, affirmations, visualization, goal-setting, and other structured activities, readers learn to recognize how stress affects them and to develop more effective ways of responding.
The workbook also introduces Let’s Mindergize, an integrated BE-MT practice that combines aerobic exercise, mindfulness, positive affirmations, and visualization. Together, these methods should calm the stress response, increase self-awareness, improve concentration, strengthen emotional resilience, and create conditions that support positive neuroplastic changes.
This workbook is not about eliminating every stressor or achieving perfection. Stress is a natural part of life. The goal is to help readers recognize when stress has become excessive, understand how it may affect the brain and body, and use practical de-stressing strategies to restore balance.
Workbook 1 provides the essential starting point for the entire BE-MT journey. It transforms the concepts presented in the original book into practical steps readers can use to become active participants in their own mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It provides the foundation for your BE-MT journey. It invites you to become an active participant in your own well-being by taking small, purposeful steps toward a healthier brain, a calmer mind, and a more resilient life.
Workbook 1 has been recognized with a 2026 Nonfiction Authors Association Silver Book Award in the Self-help category.
